This is a special post to talk about an amazing group that my friend, John Rice, just started, which will involve reading a Psalm per day until April 28, 2018. His full statement is available below to see more details:

Hello everyone!
I’ve decided to start a prayer group of sorts with whomever wishes to join. Basically the idea is to read a Psalm every day, starting today with the Psalm 1 and ending on April 28th with Psalm 150. This isn’t a group that will meet regularly and stuff, the way it’s gonna work is I’m going to make a groupme and add whoever wants to try this. Each day I’ll send a reminder to the group to read the Psalm, and give the Psalm of the day in case people lose track. As far as reading the Psalm goes everyone can do it differently: some may want to read it in the morning so they can reflect on it the whole day, others may find a time of day to read it, maybe spending five minutes to just read it, or more time on it such as 15min to reflect and pray on it.
The purpose of the group is to bring people together on some form of prayer, act as encouragement and a reminder for the prayer, and as a discussion place for anyone who wants to share how each Psalm has touched them. I’m starting this today but people can join whenever, and if they want can catch up by reading the past psalms, or can simply join us where we are at. Message me privately if you want to do this with me. Thank you!
If anyone is interested in being added, please text John at 740-275-7343 with your first and last name.

“For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control. So do not be ashamed of your testimony to our Lord, nor of me, a prisoner for his sake; but bear your share of hardship for the gospel with the strength that comes from God.”

“and said: “I swear by my very self—oracle of the LORD —that because you acted as you did in not withholding from me your son, your only one, I will bless you and make your descendants as countless as the stars of the sky and the sands of the seashore; your descendants will take possession of the gates of their enemies, and in your descendants all the nations of the earth will find blessing, because you obeyed my command.””

“God is our refuge and our strength, an ever-present help in distress. Thus we do not fear, though earth be shaken and mountains quake to the depths of the sea, Though its waters rage and foam and mountains totter at its surging. Selah”
